Denver, CO – KNS Communications Consultants installed its first PowerSkid near Tucson, AZ in the first quarter of 2017. The skid consists of a semi-permanent structure, four towers, four wind turbines and 3200 watts of solar for total power output of 5000 watts or, 800 watts of continuous demand, 24/7/365. This site powers multiple microwave links and several WiFi radios.

“PowerSkids are a logical extension to our line of Mobile Communications Trailers. The skids offer an alternative with greater power capacity in a more permanent structure”, said Will Sumners, COO of KNS. “For customers who need reliable power at a remote location, in one package, this is an ideal set up”.

The PowerSkids have the advantage of a larger footprint when compared to the trailers. Consequently, they provide more power options which can support larger equipment. In addition to the solar power and wind power options, fuel cells and diesel generators are options as well.
