Aerial Drone Services

KNS can perform varying levels of tower inspection using drones. These range from a simple scan of the tower and its equipment at high resolution (1mm resolution scan edited and analyzed) to a full 3D model with line of sight review and engineering support. Drone inspections can also be used to fly a prospective microwave path from one tower to the next. Drone inspections reduce time and resources, save you money and decrease company liability/time-consuming labor by eliminating dangerous tower climbing. Our services are available throughout the country as we have access to thousands of pilots. This ensures that expenses remain low and access to the tower site is timely.

More importantly it ensures that the appropriate skillset is matched with the scope of work being requested.

Your Need Determines Your Benefit

Tower Owners:

  • Revenue assurance – validate that the correct equipment is on the tower – that no one has installed extra equipment on the tower without your approval
  • Safety
    • Confirm equipment is installed correctly to prevent damage to that equipment or other’s equipment
    • Inspect a tower without exposing climbers to potentially harmful radio frequencies
    • Inspect the condition of the tower itself for wear and tear
  • Compliance – validate that all tenants are compliant with their contracts and with FCC licensing requirements
  • Asset Management – annual reviews and documentation provide an accurate picture of your company’s current assets

 Tower Tenants:

  • Validate that the installation was done according to their requirements
  • Inspect the condition of the installation periodically including mounting hardware, ice shields, connections and cabling
  • In the event of issues, inspect the condition to see if changes have occurred that impact performance

Prospective Tenants:

  • Confirm the availability of space on a tower where it is needed
  • Risk mitigation – inspect condition of the tower in advance of installation
  • Check line of sight based upon proposed location on the tower
  • Rather than walking a microwave path, fly the path

Qualifications

  • Licensed pilots
  • Insured pilots
  • Ensure compliance with FAA and FCC regulations
  • Over 2,000 pilots representing more than 1,000 cities across the country through teaming arrangements
  • Will match customer requirements with specific SOW for the project
